I have decided to sell one of my affiliate sites, NegativeScanners.co.uk. The reason being that I would like to release some money for reinvestment in domains.
The site needs very little work and has only been updated to approve comments and make small on page adjustments over the past year. Launched in 2008 the site was one of my early niche sites, all content within the site was created by myself and the site ranks well for a number of negative scanner related keywords including first position on Google for the main keyword ‘negative scanners’. The site uses a mixture of ECU and standard affiliate links (via a jump script) to earn commission together with Google Adsense.
The site runs on WordPress using a modified version of the Lifestyle theme and the sale will also include the domain name www.negativescanners.org.uk which I hold but currently do nothing with. Links are mainly located within a jump script as mentioned so can easily be changed to new owner. I also use ECU as mentioned above although this is not needed for the site.
Stats
All traffic generated is organic with the majority from Google as expected.
UV’s are between 3,500 – 6,500 per month peaking around the Christmas period.

Selling price
The site currently makes around £155 per month via Amazon, Affiliate Window and Google Adsense. In the past 12 months (September 2010 – August 2011) the site generated a total of £1,889 in commission.
The site has probably made more than this but for Amazon I have only taken the sales of negative scanners from the reports as I have not set up a different tracking link so the revenues do not include any cross selling with Amazon that would have more than likely occurred.
No costs for the site other than hosting and ECU (which I use on other sites anyway) and this is not needed.
I am looking for offers in excess of 12x monthly revenue so only offers above £1,900 will be considered.
A more detailed breakdown of split in revenue can be provided.
Going forward
I’m sure the site would benefit from some SEO to get more of the product pages to rank higher. It would also be beneficial to add more products to the site as currently the site promotes 10 products. There are new models and older traditional style scanners that could easily be added.
I have tried to add as much information and be as open as possible with the above details taking into account what I would want to know when buying a site myself.
